1 million Euros to support Laos and Vietnam to implement the project “Plastic Recycling and Management”
On 23 May, the International Project “Plastic Recycling and Management” (Sea-plastic-edu) was launched in Hanoi. This is a project funded by Erasmus + Program, a training program of the European Union (EU) for 3 years (2018 – 2021), with the participation of 5 countries: Austria, Germany, Denmark, Laos and Vietnam. The project has a total budget of 1 million euros.
Attending the kick-off ceremony were representatives of the Austrian Embassy, the Embassy of Germany, the Embassy of Denmark, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the leaders of Ha Noi National University, Europe and Vietnam enterprises.
In particular, Vietnam Cleaner Production Center Co.Ltd (VNCPC) was honored to be one of the four partner enterprises of the project.

Professor Nguyen Van Noi, Rector of the University of Natural Sciences, said that the project was based on the Erasmus + rule, with the aim to create links between Southeast Asia and Europe in training and practice. Training on plastic recycling in Laos and Vietnam.
The main objectives of the project are to: Support Vietnam and Laos universities in modernizing and enhancing higher education at engineering, bachelor and technician levels by establishing the educational concept of plastic recycling and waste management; Enhance the ability to recruit after graduation and entrepreneurial spirit of graduates and staffs of schools; Connect the academic and industrial world in the field of waste management.
After the launching ceremony, six main activities of the project will be implemented in Laos and Vietnam: Modernizing the existing curriculum; Establishment of two regional training centers for people working in the field of plastic recycling; Set up a training network on waste recycling; Train the trainers; Incorporate the concept of sustainable development into the discipline of waste management in master training; To raise the skills and qualifications of experts in waste management and technology transfer.
