Provide technical assistance on energy efficiency for textile and footwear enterprises – Race to the Top program (RttT)

Race to the Top program (RttT) is an IDH’s initiative that aims to reshape Vietnam’s apparel and footwear sector by promoting and embedding sustainable manufacturing practices. Since its initiation in 2016, the program has helped in information sharing and improving the national policy as well as engaged over 200 Vietnam facilities. With the support of the program, participating companies improved their social, environmental and financial performance. Since 2020, RttT has collaborated with the Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) to provide technical assistance on using energy efficiently to other facilities of both tier 1 and tier 2.

Activities in 2020:

• VNCPC advised and supported the implementation of RECP for 13 enterprises through the
  following activities:
• Introduction on RECP concept and methodology to enterprise’s RECP team;
• On-site investigation and thematic RECP assessments;
• Generation of RECP opportunities for enterprise;
• Selection and implementation of RECP solution by the enterprise;
• Result evaluation of RECP implementation.
